Findings
U-shaped fracture of the sacrum. The transverse/obliquely oriented component is present in the S2 sacral segment. Transverse fracture component also noted in the posterior elements at this level. There is anterior displacement of the inferior fragment with respect to the superior fragment. There is resultant narrowing of the spinal canal. Vertically oriented components are present in both sacral ala, involving the S1 and S2 sacral segments. Fracture components involves the S1 and S2 sacral foramina bilaterally.
Sacroiliac joint alignment is maintained.
Left L5 transverse process fracture.
Soft tissue edema and blood products identified throughout the pelvis. Soft tissue edema in the superficial adipose layer overlying the right hip. Active contrast extravasation cannot be excluded in the absence of intravenous contrast material.
Bladder is decompressed about a Foley catheter. Gas within the bladder, presumably from instrumentation.
