Elbow pain after fall. Evaluate for elbow fracture. Fall on outstretched hand.

Frontal and lateral radiographs of the elbow.

Image Quality

The lateral radiograph is obliquely imaged. [Yes/No]

Soft Tissues

A joint effusion is present. [Yes/No]

There is soft tissue edema/fullness overlying the olecranon process, overlying the lateral or medial epicondyles, or elsewhere about the elbow. [Yes/No]

There is soft tissue laceration or radiopaque foreign body. [Yes/No]

Alignment

The anterior humeral line courses anterior or posterior to the middle third of the capitellar ossification center. [Yes/No]

A line drawn down the center of the radius does not pass through the center of the capitellum on all imaging planes. [Yes/No]

Ulnohumeral alignment is abnormal. [Yes/No]

Osseous

The sequence of apophyseal ossification about the elbow is abnormal. [Yes/No]

The secondary ossification centers are abnormal in size, shape, or position. [Yes/No]

The physes are widened or irregular. [Yes/No]

The proximal radius is fractured. [Yes/No]

The coronoid process is fractured. [Yes/No]

The olecranon process is fractured. [Yes/No]

The medial or lateral humeral condyles are fractured. [Yes/No]
